🥖 Classic Bread Rolls
🧂 Ingredients (Makes 8–10 rolls):

3 ½ cups (440g) all-purpose flour (plus more as needed)

2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast

1 cup (240ml) warm milk (about 100–110°F / 37–43°C)

2 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

3 tbsp butter, softened (plus extra for brushing)

1 egg (optional, for richer dough)
🥣 Instructions:
1. Activate yeast:

In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Make the dough:

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.

Add yeast mixture, butter, and egg (if using).

Mix and knead (by hand or with mixer) for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
3. First rise:

Place dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 1–1.5 hours, until doubled.
4. Shape rolls:

Punch down the dough. Divide into 8–10 equal pieces and shape into smooth balls.

Place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, slightly spaced apart.
5. Second rise:

Cover loosely and let rise again for 30–45 minutes, until puffy.
6. Bake:

Preheat oven to 375°F / 190°C.

Brush rolls with melted butter or milk for a soft, golden finish.

Optional: Brush with more butter while warm for extra softness and shine.
