🥐 Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants
Ingredients (makes 4 croissants):
-
4 large croissants (store-bought or bakery-style)
-
4–8 slices of deli ham (depending on size/thickness)
-
4 slices Swiss cheese (or Gruyère, cheddar, or your favorite)
-
2 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, or use honey mustard)
-
1 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)
-
Optional: pinch of black pepper or a sprinkle of poppy seeds
Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Assemble croissants:
-
Slice croissants in half lengthwise (not all the way through if you want a sandwich-style hold).
-
Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard inside (if using).
-
Layer 1–2 slices of ham and 1 slice of cheese inside each croissant.
-
Close gently.
-
-
Brush & top:
-
Place croissants on the baking sheet.
-
Brush the tops with melted butter.
-
Sprinkle with a little black pepper or poppy seeds for extra flair (optional).
-
-
Bake:
-
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the croissants are golden and the cheese is melted.
-
-
Serve hot:
Enjoy warm, straight from the oven — great with fruit, salad, or coffee.
🔄 Variations:
-
Add scrambled eggs for a breakfast-style sandwich.
-
Use turkey and provolone for a different combo.
-
Mini croissants make great appetizers — reduce baking time to 6–8 minutes.
