2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks

¼ cup milk (or cream)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon paprika or smoked paprika (optional)

2 tablespoons butter

Chopped green onions or parsley, for garnish (optional)
🔥 Instructions:

Cook the Potatoes:

Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 15 minutes).

Drain and mash with butter, milk, and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cook the Beef:

In a skillet, cook ground beef with chopped onion over medium heat until browned.

Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess fat if needed.

Assemble the Casserole:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer:

The cooked ground beef mixture.

Mashed potatoes spread evenly on top.
