Here’s a classic, moist, and flavorful Banana Bread recipe — simple, reliable, and perfect for using up ripe bananas. You can keep it traditional or add your favorite mix-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.

🍌 Classic Banana Bread

🛒 Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1¼ cups)

  • ½ cup melted butter (or oil)

  • ¾ cup brown sugar or granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment.

  2. Mix wet ingredients:
In a large bowl, mash bananas. Stir in melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined.

  3. Add dry ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add to the wet mixture and stir just until no dry streaks remain. Fold in nuts or chocolate if using.

  4. Bake:
Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  5. Cool & serve:
Let cool in pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

✅ Tips

  • Overripe bananas (with brown spots) make the best banana bread.

  • Don’t overmix the batter—just until combined.

  • Store wrapped at room temp for 2–3 days or freeze slices for up to 3 months.
