🍌 Classic Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
-
3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 to 1¼ cups)
-
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (or use vegetable oil)
-
3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
-
1 large egg
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
1½ cups all-purpose flour
-
1 tsp baking soda
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
Optional:
-
1/2 tsp cinnamon
-
1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
-
1/2 cup chocolate chips
-
Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment.
-
Mash bananas in a large mixing bowl until mostly smooth.
-
Add wet ingredients: Stir in the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
-
Add dry ingredients: Sprinkle in the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Stir just until no streaks of flour remain—don’t overmix.
-
Fold in add-ins: Gently mix in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
-
Bake: Pour batter into the loaf pan. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-
Cool: Let it rest in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
💡 Tips:
-
Overripe bananas (brown and spotty) make the best banana bread.
-
Store at room temperature for 2–3 days, or wrap tightly and freeze for up to 2 months.
-
Want muffins? Divide the batter into a 12-cup muffin tin and bake at 350°F for 18–22 minutes.
