Banana bread

Here’s a classic and foolproof Banana Bread recipe — moist, rich, and packed with banana flavor. No fancy equipment needed, just a few ripe bananas and pantry staples!


🍌 Classic Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 to 1¼ cups)

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (or use vegetable oil)

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Optional:

    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

    • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

    • 1/2 cup chocolate chips


Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment.

  2. Mash bananas in a large mixing bowl until mostly smooth.

  3. Add wet ingredients: Stir in the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until well combined.

  4. Add dry ingredients: Sprinkle in the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Stir just until no streaks of flour remain—don’t overmix.

  5. Fold in add-ins: Gently mix in nuts or chocolate chips if using.

  6. Bake: Pour batter into the loaf pan. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. Cool: Let it rest in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.


💡 Tips:

  • Overripe bananas (brown and spotty) make the best banana bread.

  • Store at room temperature for 2–3 days, or wrap tightly and freeze for up to 2 months.

  • Want muffins? Divide the batter into a 12-cup muffin tin and bake at 350°F for 18–22 minutes.
