egg cooked in the shape of a chicken

Posted on August 28, 2025
Here’s a fun recipe to make an egg cooked in the shape of a chicken — a creative and whimsical breakfast that looks like a chicken using simple ingredients!

🐣 Chicken-Shaped Egg Breakfast

🍳 Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs (fresh)

  • 1 slice of carrot (for beak and comb)

  • 2 black sesame seeds or peppercorns (for eyes)

  • A small piece of red bell pepper or tomato (optional comb/wattle)

  • Cooking oil or butter

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

🍽️ Tools:

  • Nonstick frying pan

  • Egg ring mold or chicken-shaped cookie cutter (optional)

  • Toothpick or small knife

  • Spatula

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prepare decorations:

    • Cut a tiny triangle from a carrot for the beak.

    • Cut small curved pieces from the carrot or red pepper for the comb (the red part on top of the chicken’s head).

    • Get 2 sesame seeds or peppercorns for the eyes.

  2. Separate the eggs:

    • Carefully separate the egg whites and yolks into different bowls.

  3. Cook the egg white:

    • Heat a nonstick pan with a little oil or butter on low heat.

    • If you have a chicken-shaped mold, place it in the pan and pour the egg white into it.

    • Cook slowly until the white is fully set (you can cover the pan briefly to help it cook evenly).

    • Gently remove the mold.

  4. Add the yolk:

    • Place the yolk near the front to represent the chicken’s head (you can use one yolk or a bit of yolk shaped with a spoon).

    • Let it set slightly, or baste it gently with hot oil to cook it to your liking.

  5. Decorate:

    • Place the carrot beak and comb on the yolk.

    • Use sesame seeds for eyes.

    • Optionally, use a strip of seaweed or spinach for a tail.

  6. Serve:

    • Carefully lift the egg onto a plate.

    • Serve with toast, greens, or other breakfast sides.

📝 Tips:

  • If you don’t have a mold, you can use a spoon to shape the egg white gently as it cooks.

  • This is great for kids, brunches, or themed breakfasts.
