Lemon chicken

Here’s a bright, savory dish with a restaurant-quality feel: Lemon Chicken — pan-seared chicken in a tangy, buttery lemon sauce. Perfect with pasta, rice, or veggies.


🍋 Lemon Chicken (Skillet Style)

🍽️ Serves: 4

⏱️ Ready in: 30 minutes


📝 Ingredients:

  • 2 large chicken breasts, halved horizontally into 4 cutlets

  • Salt & black pepper

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3/4 cup chicken broth

  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (1–2 lemons)

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • 1–2 tsp honey or sugar (to balance tartness, optional)

  • Fresh parsley or thyme, chopped (for garnish)

  • Optional: lemon slices for garnish


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Prep the Chicken:

  • Season cutlets with salt and pepper.

  • Lightly dredge in flour, shaking off excess.

2. Sear:

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Sear chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side. Transfer to plate.

3. Make the Sauce:

  • Lower heat; melt butter in the same skillet.

  • Add garlic and cook for ~30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Stir in chicken broth, lemon juice, zest, and honey (if using).

  • Simmer for 3–5 minutes to reduce slightly.

4. Return Chicken:

  • Add chicken back to skillet; simmer 2–3 minutes, spooning sauce over.

  • Adjust seasoning if needed.

5. Serve:

  • Garnish with parsley or thyme and optional lemon slices.

  • Serve with linguine, rice pilaf, roasted potatoes, or steamed greens.


🍽️ Optional Variations:

  • Creamy version: Add a splash of cream or stir in 1 tbsp cream cheese at the end.

  • Spicy twist: Add red pepper flakes or sliced chili.

  • Low-carb: Serve with cauliflower mash or zucchini noodles.
